Citric acid help to remove rust from metal it breaks the bond between metal and rust so when rust come in contact with citric acid, rust dissolved into water and metal will be free from the rust.

  • Citric acid powder
  • Warm water
  • Empty container (choose container size according to your metal object)

Instructions:

  • Firstly in empty container pour warm water around 500 ml and add 15 gm citric acid powder.
  • Then place rusted metal object in the container and you will see some bubbles forming after a few minutes (if not then add some more citric acid powder).
  • Now cover the container and leave it for 5 to 6 hours.
  • Now wash and dry the metal object.

If you want simple home remedy to remove the rust then this is the best method as all the needed things are easily available in your kitchen. Potato contains “oxalic acid” which helps to dissolve the rust.

  • Dish soap
  • Potato juice
  • Steel wool

Instructions:

  • Firstly you will need potato juice.
  • Now pour some dish soap over the rusted metal and then pour potato juice and rub with steel wool.

Apple cider vinegar is more powerful than white vinegar; it will be very helpful in order to remove the rust.

  • Apple cider vinegar
  • Steel wool
  • Empty container (choose container size according to your metal object)

Instructions:

  • Take empty container and fill it half with apple cider vinegar.
  • Then dip the rusted metal object into the container and leave it for 5 to 6 hours (If metal object bigger than the container then direct pour the apple cider vinegar over the rusted metal and leave it for 5 to 6 hours).
  • After that take a steel wool and start rubbing the rust off.

Remove Rust From Metal By Using Baking Soda

In every household baking soda is available and this is magical ingredient which remove the rust without any hassle.

  • Baking soda
  • Steel wool
  • Water
  • Bowl

Instructions:

  • Take a bowl and add 2 cup of baking soda and then add 5 to 6 tablespoon of water, make sure the paste is reasonably thick.
  • Now apply the baking soda paste on rusted metal and leave it for 1 to 2 hours.

Diesel is another best way to remove rust from metal, diesel reacts with rust and breaks the bond with metal.

  • Leave it for 12 hours then rub it with steel wool.
  • Now clean the metal object with paper towel.

Remove Rust From Clothes By Using Lemon & Salt

If your clothes get rust stain then you can use this method.

  • Lemon
  • Salt

  • On rust affected area sprinkle some salt and then squeeze lemon over it.

  • Lime free glycerin
  • Sodium citrate
  • Calcium carbonate
  • Water
  • Bowl
  • Any sharp metal tool

Instructions:

  • In bowl take 7 cup of lime free glycerin, 1 cup of sodium citrate, 2 cup of calcium carbonate and 6 cup of water and now mix well and make thick paste (if paste is not thick then add more calcium carbonate).
  • Now apply the paste on the rust brick or concrete and leave it for 1 to 2 hours.
  • Now scrape it off with any sharp metal tool.
