How To Cook SteakHow To Cook Steak: A steak is meat of grazing animals usually farmed like beef or goat. It is sliced across the muscle fibers, potentially including a bone. It is generally grilled but can also be pan-fried. You can enjoy it with sauce and some veggies. Steaks are super rich diet. It is rich in proteins, vitamins and fats. It boosts the immunity and prevents you from many underlying diseases which are caused by any deficiency. Steak is very tasty to eat and is also quite easy to cook. Let’s learn how to cook steak.

Recipe Related Timings

  • 2 steaks (one inches thick)
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter (unsalted)
  • Few sprigs fresh thyme leaves
  • Couple of cloves of garlic

Method 1: Cooking Steak On Stove

1. Take it out from the refrigerator before 30 minutes of cooking.

2. Wipe it with paper towels.

3. Now season the steaks on both sides with salt and black and white pepper.

4. Heat a pan (with a heavy bottom) over medium-high heat to make it very hot.

5. Add some olive oil to the pan and wait till it starts shimmering.

6. Lay the steak in the pan gently to avoid splattering of hot oil.

7. Let it rest for some time. Do not flip it repeatedly.

8. Now flip it over (usually about 3 minutes).

9. Sear all the sides of the steak.

10. Now add 1 tablespoon of butter, a couple of cloves of garlic and a few sprigs of fresh thyme to the pan with the steaks.

11. Let it rest to retain the juices.

12. Now the steaks are ready to eat. Slice it and enjoy it with any sauce.

Method 2: Reverse Searing

When you cook or smoke the meat on a very low indirect heat before searing the outside over high direct heat, it is called reverse searing.

1. Make sure the steak is in room temperature.

2. Sprinkle with salt and black pepper.

3. Sprinkle olive oil in a tray and put the steak on it.

4. Insert an instant thermometer in it.

5. At 125 degree C take it out of the oven.

6. Take it out as per your choice of doneness:

  • Rare: 125°F or 52°C (Remove from the oven at 120°F or 49°C)
  • Medium-rare: 135°F or 57°C (Remove from the oven at 130°F or 54°C)
  • Medium: 145°F or 63°C (Remove from the oven at 140°F or 60°C)
  • Medium-well: 150°F or 66°C (Remove from the oven at 145°F or 63°C)
  • Well done: 160°F or 71°C (Remove from the oven at 155°F or 68°C)

7. Now transfer the steak to a pan to sear.

8. Add butter, chopped garlic and finely chopped parsley.

9. Flip the steak and sear it from all sides.

10. Take it out from the pan.

11. Give it a rest for 3 minutes, to lock all of those delicious juices in.

12. Now serve it hot with any sauce of your choice.

Method 3: Grill the Steak

1. Get the steak on room temperature.

2. Brush each side with oil.

3. Apply salt, pepper, and white pepper on the steak.

4. Preheat an outdoor grill to high heat (about 500 degrees). Sear steaks for 3 minutes each side.

5. Then reduce the heat to medium-low and continue cooking with the lid on until the steaks reach the desired level of doneness (130 degrees F for medium-rare).

6. When the steaks are removed from the grill, immediately top with 1 tablespoon butter each, cover it with aluminum foil.

7. Leave it to for 5 to 10 minutes.

8. Enjoy warm.

How To Make Steak Sauces

Peppercorn Sauce:

  • Put 1 tbsp olive oil in the pan.
  • Add 1 finely chopped onion.
  • Add 4-5 cloves of chopped garlic.
  • Add 4-5 pieces from a piece of ginger.
  • Add crushed peppercorn.
  • Add 1 tbsp oyster sauce.
  • Add 1 tbsp tomato ketchup.
  • Add 2 tbsp vinegar.
  • Add 1 tsp sugar.
  • Add 1 tbsp dark soya sauce.
  • Boil it for 7-8 minutes churn it in a mixer.
  • Enjoy your steak with the amazing sauce.

Red chilly Sauce:

  • Take 1 cup cooking oil in a pan.
  • Add 20 g of peppercorn.
  • Add 2-3 cloves of crushed garlic.
  • Add 1 finely chopped onion.
  • After 6-7 minutes.
  • Add a handful red finely chopped red chilies.
  • Stir it and cook it for another 10 minutes and strain it.
  • Enjoy the seared steak with this tempting sauce.

Red Wine Sauce:

  • Add red wine in the pan.
  • Add 1 finely chopped onion.
  • Add beef stock.
  • Add 1 tbsp tomato ketchup.
  • Add a little unsalted butter.
  • To make it thicker add 1 tsp cornstarch.
  • Enjoy the medium-rare steak with the sauce.
